Our Commitment to Safety and Respect

At Alpha Pi Sigma, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all our members. Hazing has no place in our Alphahood, and we are committed to ensuring that every member, new and existing, feels safe and valued.

Understanding Hazing

Hazing refers to any action taken or situation created that causes embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule and risks emotional or physical harm. This can include physical challenges, degrading tasks, or any behavior that seeks to intimidate or humiliate.

Examples of Hazing:

Requiring new members to perform demeaning tasks
Initiations involving excessive physical or mental stress
Coercing or forcing participation in activities that cause discomfort
Any form of bullying or harassment

Our Policy

We have a zero-tolerance policy for hazing in any form. All members are expected to adhere to the following principles:

Respect and Dignity: Every individual deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Hazing undermines this fundamental principle.
Safe Environment: Activities should be designed to build camaraderie and promote positive relationships, not to cause harm or distress.
Accountability: All members, including new initiates and current members, are responsible for upholding these standards and reporting any hazing incidents.

Reporting Hazing

If you experience or witness any form of hazing, please report it immediately. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly while ensuring confidentiality and protection for those involved.

Education and Training

To prevent hazing and promote a healthy sorority experience, we conduct regular education and training sessions. These include:

Workshops on recognizing and preventing hazing
Seminars on creating a positive and inclusive environment
Interactive Sessions to engage members in discussions about ethics and responsibilities
