Reporting and Resources by State

1. California

Definition: California law defines sexual harassment as unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that creates a hostile work environment or quid pro quo harassment where job benefits are contingent upon sexual favors.

Reporting: You can report harassment or assault to the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) or through the California State University system if you are affiliated with it.

2. Illinois

Definition: Illinois law prohibits sexual harassment, including unwanted sexual advances, inappropriate touching, or verbal harassment. The Illinois Human Rights Act provides protections.
